My husband rescued Chuchu when he was just a lonely kitten, found in the bushes of Irabu Island—a small, beautiful island near Miyako Island in Okinawa.
He was raised by our resident dog, Shimoji (who was also rescued on the neighboring Shimoji Island). Because of this, Chuchu absolutely loves dogs and considers them his best friends. He even goes out for walks with them!
Thanks to Shimoji’s upbringing, Chuchu grew up to be a very dog-like cat; whenever we call his name, he comes running with his tail straight up in the air. Even now at 11 years old, he remains a total cuddly baby who is always glued to Shimoji’s side.
